Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are all of the herbs grown and harvested by you?
Not yet! My goal is to have all herbs hand-grown, -harvested, and -crafted by myself, though currently, that’s only possible with a handful of the herbs that I use. The herbs that I do grow and harvest are noted on each product with a (+). For herbs that I do source elsewhere, I always buy organic.
-
How do I dispose of your packaging?
For the Kraft pouches (used for teas, soaks, and scrubs), the packaging (including inks) are compostable. The muslin bags for the soaks can be emptied, washed, and reused. For the bottles used for tinctures, you can either reuse the bottles for other needs or send them back to me to be sanitized and reused!
-
Where are you located?
I don’t have a storefront at this time, but all hand-crafting takes place in Saint Paul, Minnesota! If you live in the Twin Cities area, local pickup is an option to save shipping.
-
How does local pick-up work?
If you're in the Twin Cities area, you can select "local pick up" at check out (please note that if you're not in the Twin Cities area and this option is selected, your order will be canceled.)
Pick-up is available Monday and Friday evenings starting at 4 pm. Once your order is placed, I'll reach out via email to set a day, time, and location!

Are you a doctor?
I am not a medical doctor! All information on this site is intended for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your doctor before starting new herbal courses, especially if taking other medications.

When will you have new teas, tinctures, etc.?
I make whatever happens to flourish in the garden for that season, meaning that not every product will always be available! New products, especially seasonally-specific ones, and restocks will be posted on my Instagram. Follow @blacktallowapothecary to stay in the loop!
